NOTICE
The wording employed in the sections below is not intended to be exhaustive or fully comprehensive of the whole scope of teachings of FAITH TABERNACLE. No claim is made that these explanations comprise the totality of Biblical doctrine, but rather a brief explanation of fundamental Apostolic doctrine. -Pastor Cortes | ONENESS OF THE GODHEAD
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord" Deut. 6:4 The One True God, Father & Creator of all things has revealed Himself in many ways thoughout mankind's exsistence and expressly in the man Jesus Christ. He has revealed Himself as Father of all elements of creation. He by means of the Incarnation became the Son in redemption of humanity. He also revealed Himself in the regeneration of humanity as the Holy Ghost. We are a firm monotheistic assembly and do not ascribe to ecumenical philosophies or Trinitarian definitions of Jehovah God. We declare that in Jesus Christ dwelt the "fulness of the Godhead bodily" (Col. 2:9) which is the "express image of God". The Father by means of the Incarnation became "God manifest in the flesh" (1 Tim 3:16) and that the Holy Ghost is literally the Spirit that was in Jesus Christ. "The Spirit of truth...dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you" (John 14:17-18). | INFALLABILITY OF SCRIPTURE
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God for the purposes of Doctrine, reproof, correction, and righteous instruction (2 Tim 3:16). It is revelation from God to man; superior to human conscience or rationale.
We hold fast that its “not the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.” (1 Thess.2:13) and though given to man, God’s sovereignty has kept it HIS WORD and His omnipotence has made it infallible. | BIBLICAL SALVATION
I. Faith Jesus Christ is the Author and Finisher of our faith. The Bible teaches that without faith you cannot please Him (Heb 11:6) indicating we must excerise our faith. Belief and obedience to the Gospel hinge on the principle ingredient of faith in all who seek salvation. Faith in the Word of God will lead every person to obey it's written commandments. II. Repentance Admission to and abandonment of all sin is genuine repentance.Pardon and forgiveness is imparted to the repentant; thus making the obedient believer justified by faith.
III. Water Baptism Administered only after true repentance Biblical method is by immersion only Baptism is performed in the name of Jesus according to Acts 2:38, Acts 8:12-16, Acts 10:48, and Acts 19:5 which is the prescribed method of Matthew 28:19.
IV. Baptism of the Holy Ghost Is consumation of spiritual regeneration (being Born Again) according to John 3:5 and Titus 3:5 Is always evidenced by speaking in an unlearned language (tongues) according to Mark 16:17, Acts 2:4, Acts 10:46 and Acts 19:6. The phrases“baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire”, “filled with the Holy Spirit” and the“gift of the Holy Ghost” are synonymous and are used interchangeably in the Bible. Someone who has not spoken in tongues has not received the Holy Ghost; this is substantiated by every Scriptural account of an individual that did recieve the Holy Ghost.
| HOLINESS
Holiness is separation from evil and defilement; the opposite of unrighteous. It is not possible to remain in sin and enjoy salvation. “For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness” (I Thess. 4:7). When God places us into the church, we begin to share His nature, “that we might be partakers of his holiness” (Hebrews 12:10). To neglect holiness is to forfeit the right to meet the Lord. “Follow peace . . . and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Heb.12:14). "Every sincere believer will endeavor to imitate Christ and it is in this realm that the magnificence of personal Christianity is so vividly manifested. In maintaining a separate lifestyle from the world, believers are able to communicate Christ more clearly than they could if the world saw no difference at all. Holiness gives powerful credence to our testimony as Christians." |
